The first lectures of both Ecology modules have been really interesting, cell biology not so much, but it’ll be okay, and I’m really looking forward to the field course. I’ve been feeling very down and my sleep pattern has gone down the drain and I’m feeling quite depressed quite often. This has lead to not feeling like revising for any exams. Partly because nothing goes in, but also I just can’t seem to concentrate on anything at the moment. It does seem to be a symptom of something, along with the insomnia. I might manage to make a doctors appointment at some point and figure out what’s actually wrong with me. Only a short post, however, as there isn’t all that much more that I can say except.. I got the grades to go to Southampton! I needed BBB, and I got a B in Maths, A in Chemistry and A* in Biology. The last grade is my favourite. Although I’m a little disappointed that I only got a B in maths, as they all said I deserved an A, but I did find two papers really hard and got Cs, and the grade in Bio slightly outweighs the B! I realised I only dropped 15/600 marks in Bio this year; I got full marks in unit 4, as I did with unit 2, and the others were all really high so I was pleased, and so were all the teachers. So I’m going to University in a month; I’m slightly nervous but very excited, so I’m sure I’ll be venting frustrations and awesomeness at some point along the way… Read More...

We found a nice place called Pat’s cafe, and I had blueberry pancakes with a huge mug of tea. It was a good breakfast! We then went off to find Westfield’s and Macy’s. Westfield’s was quite awesome. We spent ages looking for a birthday present for Toby that wasn’t $80 upwards, and eventually found the Hollister shop. I got a pair of shorts, a tee and a nice checked shirt, mum got a shirt, Chris got lots of tees and dad got a shirt. And I got a shirt for Toby.   • Drink more water. The classic choice because, as always, I need to be healthier and drink more to stop my epic low blood pressure and dizziness, as well as giving me clearer skin and thoughts (apparently).
  • Exercise properly. The gym is a good place for this when you spend more than half an hour at a time there…
  • Decide what to do for University. This should be number one, as it is rather important for the rest of my life.
  • REVISE. I got away with a little last year but I really want to push for my retakes and summer exams to get the best possible grades… After all, they’ll only stick with me FOREVER.
  • Grow a backbone. I need to be able to ask people when I need advice or to talk to them about something.
